About the Blog
The ARTSHARKS ARTHouse Presents:
The ARTSHARKS Blog
The ARTSHARKS Blog is a collaboration of work volunteered by it’s family of contributing writers. These writers all have something to say, are interested in art and creativity, and would like to help ARTSHARKS in it’s quest to ‘Bridge the Art Gap’. Below is a brief introduction to our talented writers:
“El Dante”
“I always wonder what people are thinking, what they might be going through at that moment. I’m ‘the shrink’ to my friends. Apparently I’m very ‘in touch’ with my feelings. I don’t mind. But I don’t solve their issues, I don’t help either. I just judge. They know it. They come to me anyway because I speak my mind, even when it’s not what they wanna hear.” – “El Dante”
You can contact El Dante at eldante@ARTSHARKS.net
“Cat Among the Pigeons”
Cat Among the Pigeons is a rambler and a raconteur, and while not quite sure what those are supposed to mean, likes the sound of it.

“The Imaginary Historian”
Called so because of the back-stories she used to make up in her head about the dreary subjects sat across from her on the tube journey to her 9-5, The Imaginary Historian now wishes she’d written them down.
The Imaginary Historian now lives in Paris, where the tube journeys are shorter and less dull. Dividing her time between working in a gallery and teaching, she writes about the art and galleries she comes across while pottering around the city, whether they be of historical or imaginary importance.

“Angreek87″
Angreek87 is as Greek and as young as her name implies. In her previous life, she may have been born a philosopher. Or an ice-sculptor. Or a baker. She sees art as she sees life: multi-dimensional, priceless, and forever open to interpretation.

“He Said, She Said…”
In the beginning, there was no need to hold back. They could talk for hours, about anything.
If she had a problem with him, she would tell him and if he had a problem with her, he would tell her.
Being he or she was easy – they always knew what the other was thinking.
Then one day, though neither can pinpoint the exact moment, he decided it was best to keep his thoughts to himself and she did the same – some would say it just made life easier.
Time went by, he slowly lost touch with what she was thinking and she slowly lost touch with what he was thinking – some would say this made life impossible.
Today he or she doesn’t have a clue what the other thinks… To bridge the gap, every day we will pick an art-related* topic to discuss.
He will speak his mind. She will speak her mind.
Will they ever see eye to eye and begin to understand each other again? Or will she jet back to Venus defeated while he sails home to Mars, with his tail between his legs?
* defining this is like answering the age old question “What is Art?”, so we won’t!

“Jetset Violet”
Jetset Violet has been there, done that and is now investigating something more inspiring. She lives in a jet, leading a global-nomadic existence filled with art, culture, music, fashion, and everything that looks interesting (currently wants Helicopter lessons if her PA can fit them into her schedule). Often bemused yet silently flattered when others describe her as the definition of creativity. Contrary to popular belief, she is not the centre of the universe. She is the universe. (Twitter: @jetsetviolet)
“Design Delirious“
Oh how her parents wished she would have chosen a “profitable” career like law or medicine, but all the money in the world would not have filled the void that could be filled with artistic creation, and sleepless all-nighters. Between residing in Philadelphia/Cincinnati (back and forth, forth and back), maintaining her personal blog, entering design competitions, working gigs at design/fashion merchandising firms, writing about artsy knick-knacks is just one of the many gloves Design Delirious wears every day.
“Bint Warraq”
Reporting live from everywhere and interrupting your scheduled program to break your thoughts. Bint Warraq derives from the revolutionary school of thought; (and not in the “guerrilla war-faring” sense but in the “so far outside of the box that people inside the box look like ants” sense) and is self-admittedly rusty (and we don’t mean tetanus bearing nail).
Il-Shab Artist is a scientific artist with aesthetic appreciation towards image-recording devices trying to theorize society’s [and his own] irrational emotional behavior in relation to this thing they name “art”. He dabble’s in social media mumbo-jumbo and hopes one day he can vacation in the playboy mansion.
“Yoshi “the sytch” Sanchez”
Yoshi was born in the water, lives on land and travels in the sky. He wants you to know he’s made of the stuff of stars.
“Flâneuse”
Flâneuse moved to Paris four years ago to seek out the bohemian life. She lived an artist’s existence in Montmartre; taking a lot of photographs and studying philosophy, until the time came to move on. Nowadays she still takes photos, but flatly refuses to ever read Heidegger again. Instead, she writes about art and music, which is far more agreeable.
“The Not-So-Silent Observer”
Growing up in a world filled with fairytales and dragons and where Tinkerbell was her best friend, she used to look at the world from behind a looking glass.
After years of silent observation, she feels its time to say what she thinks about everything she sees.
Its time to end the silence.
“Brian OK”
Father. Liver of life. Writer. Photographer. Tattoo collector. World Traveler. Full time hustler. Proprietor of The Breed Studio.
“Holly Golightly”
“23 years of loving art, fashion and all things vintage. I love looking at art from a different perspective. I love to travel, and have always been inspired by the sea.” – “Holly Golightly”
“Anonymuse”
“I may not write fancy insightful pieces but i sure do know how to rant. Thank you, now move on!” – “Anonymuse”
