Do Not Forget Me

“FORGET ME NOT” by Bridgette Ferguson
You seek to fly,
They’ve set you free,
Now that you know how—
But where would you go,
And to what heights would you climb to escape all this?
Once you take flight,
Do you know how to land,
Have you practiced that part yet,
Or is it an unwritten scene left to improvisation when the storm rolls in?
Enjoy your journey, release your cry,
But do not forget
That your perception will alter
And you will lose track of the trees when you conquer the forest.
I only ask that you do not forget me.
