Me and my second best friend! by MonicaMulder
It is a matter of stupidity, but it is not yours—it is mine.
It is not a matter of devotion, but one of negligence.
It is not a question of defeat, but a lesson from failure.
It is a warning of the frailty, of the less-than-a-hair’s-breadth-line between the living and the dead.
It is a reminder of how I miss you, you young creature that was barely born in my heart and leaves a shadow on my conscience. What if you were someone I knew for years? What if you were of my flesh and blood? As the love multiplies so exponentially, so must the pain, and the remorse…
And so this is a sorrow and an apology, a bowing of my head, a shame… a wake-up call to the whisper of death, lost innocence, loss, that is only a breath away from our ears, an undertone that is omnipresent, a voice that we can still only by providing the best in us to all of us: truly, the best thing you have to give in this life… is your time, your energy, your heart, your devotion, your ears, your eyes, your brainpower, your passion… yourself.
