Passion—in all interpretations of the word, I take it. Passion in creation, in forgiveness, in profession, in loving, in life.

Passion  as a means to an end, as the end, as the journey and destination at once. As my grandfather used to say, God gave us brains and expected us to use them; but their use was in our judgment. Our nature and nurture, and the subsequent cultivation of our characters and souls, color our lens, give us a language with which we can read the rubrics of the experiences tattooed on our flesh and hearts, and define our perception of the world—and our interpretation of these signals. Think about the colors that you see. Use your finger to trace the tattoos on the surface and beneath it. Squint to the very depths of your horizon. Seek what you so desire, and you may very well be given what it is you seek.
