Take the last step.

It’s the one in front of you—that one—the last one. The hardest forsaken freaking step to take.

You know you’ll wobble on your toes a little bit. You’ve come this far—so far—so you are no green horn to wobbling. You’re a veteran at the tightrope-walking mess they call life. You’ve sucked sweat and blood and tears from the last straw. You’ve mortared and caked your share of cement on that last brick in the wall.

What remains now is the last step. The step that implies finality. The step that may for once and for all confirm the saying that everything will be okay in the end—If it’s not okay, it’s not the end. But is it? Is it what you want? You want everything to be okay. But do you really want it all to end?

The last step is yours. All yours. Gravity alone has the power to compel you to take it if you don’t want to—that’s all there is, that’s who is left playing in the ring: will power and gravity. Take your choice of the lesser of the evils, or the greatest of the goods. Perception, too.

Perception is left for you. Perception is like the umpire in the boxing ring. He’ll position you in the corner so you can see the final match from the exact angle thatyou want to.

The last step. Yours for the taking. It belongs to no other. You tell me that you know the time has come. Stretch your legs and go.
