“TIGER AND WOLF” by Cliff Vestergaard

It’s only adoration, pure and simple, and you’ve no right to question or shun
it. I don’t care who sees it, and I care even less of what they have to say.
Those who mind don’t matter, you know, and those who matter don’t mind.
And you, my dear sir, had best listen up, because I can’t leave you, you see.
I really don’t care about your name, your heritage, your species. I care of
the colors in your heart, not of your skin; of the depth of your kindness, not
the dizzying deeps of your dark hazel eyes; of the tone of your voice and not
that of your hair. You fall in love with the person, not the body, but it’s a

favorable stroke of god-sent blessing to get both. I wouldn’t change you for
the world, for I’d be only changing you for yourself. It’d be like blindfolding
a child in a room, swirling him around a few times, and showing him again
the same room, telling him “here is elsewhere.” For to the world you may be
one person, you know, but to one person you may very well be the world.
